"While competing in my first 3 full IRONMAN triathlons, I was content to simply finish comfortably with gradual time improvements in each race. This season I decided to make a concerted effort to be much more competitive. I began by incorporating exercises and recommendations learned from a run gait analysis performed by Julie last year. I achieved significant improvement in my run time during the San Diego International Triathlon, my first race this season. A month later, I built on these gains with a PR marathon time at IRONMAN Lake Placid.
After Lake Placid, I worked with Julie again to dial in the fit on my new tri bike. Julie helped me achieve an aero position that was comfortable to maintain in a full IRONMAN distance race, while still optimizing my power. Less than 2 weeks later, I achieved PRs in both the bike and run legs at IRONMAN Coeur d'Alene, as well as an overall PR time in a full IRONMAN. Despite strong headwinds on the second loop of the bike course, the improved bike fit helped me stay efficient and conserve strength in my legs for the run."
