O2fitness-athlete, Michelle Faurot, digs out, and reports in... Compared to last year when I was on my trainer maybe 2-3 times, this year is different. Coach Julie Young has helped me incorporate snow training into my workouts. While I’ve done some cross country skiing this winter, this past week was about taking advantage of fresh powder for some downhill skiing (super fun!) and working on shoveling the frozen ice pack off our driveway (not as fun). The downhill powder skiing was much harder than a gym strength workout — and nice to find that my strength training also helps my skiing!
The frozen driveway has proven to be a very tiring full body strength and endurance workout. It does feel productive, you get to be outside and you don’t even have to leave your own house! As you can see, I’m still not done. Perseverance is good mental training. Bring on the snow!
