Join us Tuesday, June 25 at 7:30 pm at Alpenglow Sports for an interactive presentation on effective conditioning program for injury prevention and improved performance. The presentation specifically addresses the runner, but the protocol is applicable to all of our sports activities - at the recreational to elite level.
Presenter, Julie Young, owner and head coach of o2fitness Coaching and Training, and Director of Silver Sage Sports Performance Center shares invaluable, research derived strategies developed by Dr. Chris Powers at USC, and based on 10-years of research. Powers continues to fine-tune these exercises through experimentation at his newly opened, multi-million dollar, Movement Performance Institute (MPI). The premise of Power's research and resulting program is to reduce quad dominant movement strategies resulting in high consequences for the lower extremities, particularly the knee, and spine, and train safe, efficient and powerful shared hip-quad movement strategies.
Not all strength programs are created equally - this eight-tiered, MPI conditioning program systematically progresses from activation (developing cognitive growth and connection/brain-muscle communication) and strength to movement re-education.
Be ready to move - yoga mats encouraged!
