Training and European Stage Race Anecdotes Talk at Victory Velo

Where: Victory Velo, Auburn, CA
When: Thursday, August 23, 6:30pm
Hosts: Sierra Foothill Cycling Club

From: Larry Matz, President Sierra Foothill Cycling Club...

Our next Club meeting this coming Thursday evening at Victory Velo will feature an amazing  athlete, coach and speaker.

Julie Young was America's most dominant European stage racer over her 12 year professional bike racing career. She was a six time Cycling World Championship Team member with a number of General Classification wins, including the Tour de L'Aude--the women's version of the Tour de France and numerous other stage wins, and Podium finishes

Following this outstanding career she took up Nordic skiing, mountain biking and trail running, dominating races in each of these over the next 7-8 years.

Today Julie is Director of Sports Performance at Silver Sage Sports Performance and a well known coach at O2fitness. Julie coaches cyclists , Nordic and Alpine skiers, triathletes , mountain bikers and more.

This is a great opportunity to hear a little more about what European stage racing at the world class level is all about and gain some insights into what it takes to train for this kind of competition.

In addition to being a world class athlete Julie is a wonderful person and can answer a few questions regarding how we can improve our training.

So don't miss this opportunity to meet Julie and learn about a level of competition we can only dream about.

Thanks, Larry
